Game afternoon for seniors at the Lithuanian Education Museum
2025 October 8 - 2025 October 8
16:00 - 17:30
The smallest inhabitants of nature hide the biggest secrets! The Lithuanian Education Museum invites you to the international live exhibition “DŪZZZGĖS,” where history, art, and live experience merge into a single journey through an extraordinary and mysterious world!
This exhibition continues the tradition started more than a century ago by the museum’s founder, Vincas Ruzgas, of learning about nature in a lively way. The “living corner” with silkworms, squirrels, and reptiles amazed children and taught them to explore the world up close. DŪZZZGĖS revives this idea in a modern way, revealing the secrets of nature in a new and intriguing way.
The exhibition features educational posters from the late 19th and early 20th centuries from the museum’s collection, reminding us of how nature was taught back then. The large-format, colorful, and meticulously prepared illustrations bear witness to the development of science and education and reveal the diversity of the insect world.
Alongside them are macro photographs by artist Stano Ščepán (Slovakia). Using a complex technique, the author creates a single perfectly clear image from hundreds or even thousands of frames. The photographs reveal nuances of nature that are invisible to the naked eye – from barely perceptible color transitions to microscopic structures that reveal extraordinary precision and beauty.
The greatest discovery awaits in the live exhibition. Here you can see exotic arthropods, mollusks, and invertebrates up close – from large spiders to unique insects and unexpected guests, such as cockroaches from distant lands, surprising in their behavior and appearance.
DŪZZZGĖS is an invitation not only to see, but also to experience. It is an opportunity to look at nature from an unusual perspective, to experience the joy of curiosity, and to discover how living diversity can inspire both science and art.
