Free admission to museum exhibitions on Sunday, February 22
2026 February 22 - 2026 February 22
10:00 - 16:00
On March 11, Lithuanian Independence Restoration Day, the Lithuanian Education Museum invites you to visit the museum’s exhibitions free of charge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and to participate in the free educational activity “The Path of Writing” at 2 p.m.
This educational activity will serve as a meaningful reminder that writing is not only an everyday tool, but also the foundation of statehood. The Act of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania, signed on March 11, 1990, testifies to the power of the written and signed word. Just as the pens of the signatories once traced the future of freedom, so today everyone who writes continues the path of writing from the first letters to the documents that change the history of the state.
Participants in the festive educational program will embark on a symbolic journey through the history of writing, from ancient wax and slate tablets to quills and fountain pens. In the museum spaces, you will be able to see authentic writing implements, try writing on wax-coated tablets, or write your name with a quill.
The educational event is intended for families, students, and anyone who wants to celebrate March 11 in a creative and meaningful way by touching the history of writing and symbols of freedom.
The number of participants is limited, so advance registration is required by phone at +370 650 410 18 or by email at info@lsim.lt.
