Concert-education “M. K. Čiurlionis’ Folk Song Arrangements” and presentation of the publication “Lakštangėlė”
2025 October 29 - 2025 October 29
17:30 - 18:30
The Lithuanian Museum of Education invites you to the opening of the exhibition “The Power of Drawing,” featuring works by students and teachers of the Vilnius Academy of Arts.
This exhibition invites visitors to rethink the significance of drawing in the modern world, to look at drawing from a different angle, perhaps even consciously and briefly separating it from contemporary art. The works of VAA teachers and students on display reveal different drawing styles and techniques – from academic studies, freehand sketches, and studies of human anatomy to abstract drawings.
The exhibition emphasizes the universality and revival of drawing, its role in developing creativity, memory, and mental health, as well as its contribution to neuroplasticity and learning processes. Even the attitude towards professionalism. The exhibition not only shows the historical continuity of drawing, but also encourages viewers to pick up a pencil themselves – to discover that this ancient practice is relevant and meaningful in the 21st century.
The exhibition opens on September 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lithuanian Education Museum (Vytauto pr. 52, Kaunas). The event is free of charge.
The exhibition will run from September 3 to October 4, 2025.
